Our client builds and runs their own real-time electronic trading systems - very successfully. They now have an opportunity for a top C# Software Engineer to join their small London-based team in their modern, spacious, plush Central London offices. You will be working with a handful of colleagues in London, and colleagues from offices across the globe to develop database-driven Web and Windows applications to support their trading activities. In their dynamic fast-paced working environment projects will be short and very frequent, with many projects running at once. Successful applicants will be degree educated with a 2.1 or better from a good university and will have excellent development skills in C#. You will be working on your own in the first instance so you must be an all-rounder and a problem solver, who does not need micro-managing. A strong interest in financial markets would be a distinct advantage.

In this role, you'll be working in a small team of highly skilled software engineers developing quality software components for the next generation of their applications.

As an integral part of the team, your responsibilities will include creation and review of design specifications, providing prototypes, providing guidance to offshore development teams and identification and communication of technical issues and risks.

To be considered for this role, you'll need to have a strong academic background in Computer Science or similar from a reputable university.

The following skills are essential:
· Experience developing professional C++ & C# applications
· User Interface and User Experience design skills
· Direct involvement in object oriented developments
· Ability to produce documented software designs

Any experience of the following would be advantageous:

Our client is rapidly growing, global company and are currently looking for a Lead Software Engineer to develop Microsoft based software products for the process industry.

Working as an integral part of this small dynamic team, you'd be responsible for the design, implementation, test and maintenance of SharePoint related development activities such as web parts, workflow foundation, custom field types, deployment and development and supporting services. You'll be working with other developers and analysts to develop software designs and specifications, providing source material for end user documentation and help and task estimation and progress reporting.

To be considered for this role you'll need a strong academic background in a numerate discipline from a well respected university and have experience of the following:
· Competent in O-O development using C# and Visual Studio
· Ideally, a good understanding of SharePoint and the SharePoint Object Model; though candidates with strong experience in ASP.NET web development will also be considered.

Experience of any of the following would be an advantage:
· SQL Server, WCF, ASP.NET, XML-based technologies
· Engineering disciplines relevant to process plant or shipbuilding; and/or PLM applications
· Iterative software development
· Product-based software development in a commercial environment

This exciting role would suit someone who is capable of working independently and able to function as part of a team, able to propose solutions to complex problems and able to clearly express technical ideas, especially in the form of design documents.

You'll join a team providing advice, support and troubleshooting expertise to the wider software development group.
