The Embedded Systems team within this top company is currently looking to recruit a senior electronics consultant to help develop complex electromechanical products. There is the opportunity to travel overseas – as many of their medical projects are for US clients.

Role and Responsibilities
This is a multi-faceted hands-on role in which the consultant is expected to be the lead electronic engineer for significant product development, taking responsibility for the successful delivery of the electronic and electrical aspects of the product, including requirements management, standards compliance, system architecture, detailed design, prototypes, verification testing and approvals.

This is a client-facing role, working directly with the clients’ project teams. Some support of the sales process is also anticipated in providing technical input to sales meetings and proposals for work. You will be expected to become involved in a range of projects serving clients predominately in the medical and industrial sectors.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
You will need a good academic track record with at least 2:1 in electronics or a related discipline.

Essential Experience and Skills
The successful candidate should have strong experience in electronic design at board and product-level through the full product life cycle. You will have excellent communication skills and must be able to demonstrate good project co-ordination and attention to detail.

In addition you will have:

•Solid technical capability in board and product-level electronics design, in particular; microprocessors, interfaces to sensors and actuators, power management
•A track record of developing products through the full development cycle from specifications to transfer to manufacture
•Experience of requirements management, risk management activities such as FMEA, verification testing, EMC and safety approvals
•Experience of managing projects to tight timescales and budgets

Preferred Skills
It would be an advantage if you have experience of medical product development.
