This key role is to manage and develop the QA function to agreed objectives. You will liaise with all departments to develop, implement and continuously improve QA systems throughout the company. This will include specific emphasis on obtaining ISO9001: 2000 accreditation within an agreed timescale and to ensure the accreditation is maintained. You will develop comprehensive reporting systems and develop solutions to monitor and rectify quality non-conformance.

Degree level educated in electronics, manufacturing or similar, you will have an understanding and wide experience in the operation and management of high technology electronics manufacture and design. You must have recent management and practical experience in total quality management systems and, ideally, involvement in successfully obtaining ISO9001: 2000 accreditation. This is a new position that is being created within the company and the focus of the role will be to maximise development efficiency, minimise development times and maintain an accurate forward picture of all development projects so that other company activities can be suitably co-ordinated.

You will be a highly organized individual with an excellent track record in project management. Our client is growing and are looking for Applications Engineers to work with their clients to utilise the major benefits of their products.

You should have a good electronic engineering or embedded software background, or similar, with particular experience of working in C. You should also be familiar with electronic circuit design and debug. You will represent them in a professional manner at all times. You will be expected to travel to customer sites worldwide, sometimes at
short notice. You will need to have a flexible attitude, and be comfortable in the presence of customers and pressurised situations.

Specific Responsibilities: Working with customers, both by phone/email and on their sites. Ability to solve problems and create suitable solutions. Need to "think on your feet". Good communication skills, including reporting information/findings to the rest of the team and company. Technical curiosity and development of your own ideas. They want people to be having fun and doing things because they are interesting!

Minimum Requirements: A good degree, probably in Electronic Engineering, Computing or a related discipline. C programmer. Preferably with good recent experience, especially embedded systems. Electronic engineering skills, familiarity with analysers, scopes, ICE etc. Passion for technology. Perhaps a hobby interest. Ability to travel worldwide.

Their expertise is in the fields of RF based imaging and detection, advanced control and signal processing. They are well resourced for RF design to 10GHz in terms of experience, test equipment and simulation tools and provide hardware and system design for products with a significant RF electronics content.

To meet the demanding requirements of this role you will have an excellent first degree or post graduate degree in electronic engineering or a related discipline and significant relevant experience. Doctorates with RF design experience will also be considered.

Due to the nature of the work, it will be necessary to obtain security clearance for the successful applicant, and therefore the applicant must hold UK nationality.

Significant depth of knowledge and experience in at least one of the following:

Our client is an award-winning leader in their field, very well placed to grow further in a huge consumer electronics market in Europe, the Far East and worldwide. Due to expansion, they are actively seeking an experienced Customer Support Engineer.

You will work with the existing technical support team, based in Cambridge, to provide technical assistance to our client's customers within the EMEA region. Support activities can take many forms including network debugging, software/hardware fault resolution, customer training and application development.

Your role will include:

· Providing all levels of technical support both pre and post sales
· Support proprietary software and mechanisms
· Maintenance and installation of 3rd party solutions and systems
· Reporting fault verification and debugging
· Application development and debugging
· Technical training of customer staff
· On-site support for customers as required
· Producing and managing documentation as required

You must have solid knowledge of Linux, and understand IPTV principles, network infrastructure and technologies. Good verbal and written communication skills along with experience in a demanding customer-facing role are essential. Ideally you'll also have a degree in Electronics or similar.

An excellent benefits package is on offer.

Please note that this job requires regular international travel, with the potential for considerable time away from home. The successful candidate must be able to cope under pressure in such environments, and to quickly be able to work independently and effectively.
