Our client is a global organisation and a market leader in analytical scientific instrumentation. Their products are used by Physicists, Chemists, Biologists and Medical Professionals throughout the scientific community including universities, R&D centres, government labs, hospitals, clinical labs and pharmaceutical companies. Our client's Cambridge site is home to their UK R&D Centre where they design and manufacture next generation elemental analysis instruments. Due to recent restructuring they now have an opportunity for a Electronics Engineer to join their team at anything from a junior to senior level. In this role you will contribute to, and possibly supervise, a team of Electronics Engineers working to re-engineer and advance our client's instruments to ensure they remain market-leading. The ideal candidate will be degree-educated with a 2.1 or better in Electronics, and have commercial experience of electronic system, circuit and PCB design and both analogue and digital techniques.

Our client is an exciting young company who have developed a set of innovative technologies that reduce energy requirements in consumer and industrial products.

Due to expansion, they are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Technical Project Manager to play a key role in bring their breakthrough technologies to market.

Your core work will be to:
- Liaise with third party external development teams
- Write specifications for hardware and software development for implementation of our client’s products and creation of basic prototypes
- Communicate technical knowledge and monitor progress of external teams in their engineering processes
- Use practical electronics engineering skills during testing and verification of completed systems

You'll have a degree in Electronics Engineering or similar, with skills/experience in:
- Product design, development and transfer to production, including CE approval process
- Embedded 8-bit programming (C and assembler) and system design
- Electronics design skills including prototyping

You must be able to write clear and concise engineering specifications, including rigorous system design methodologies, development of test plans and verification processes. And you won't be afraid to use a soldering iron if required.

Personally, you'll be adaptable and self-managing, a high achiever who's quick to learn. You'll enjoy taking on a challenge and delivering on that challenge, and prepared to work hard to succeed. Some travel to continental Europe can be expected.

Summary: An exciting role for a Scientist/Engineer who is familiar with the functionalisation of surface nano-particles as well as thin film patterning.

Our client is a leading name in novel screen technology. As their R&D team continue to grow they are currently seeking a scientist to carry out research and development of novel architectures and processes leading to fabrication of state of the art organic electronic devices – PLEDS/OTFT and OPVs. The scientist/engineer in this position will play a key role in identifying new opportunities for organic electronics, and in experimentation to realise these opportunities.

Main activities will include:

· Fabricate devices in their cleanroom facilities.
· Characterise these devices using the relevant equipment, and develop novel measurement techniques and systems to improve understanding and throughput
· Characterise new materials produced by chemists and external partners and collaborators.
· Analyse results and make conclusions, writing reports when necessary.
· Keep careful records of all laboratory work to ensure control and traceability.
· Identify new approaches and architectures for novel organic electronic devices that will expand their IP portfolio and potentially contribute to future revenues.

Knowledge / experience / skills required:

· PhD or equivalent research experience in Organic Semiconductor Physics, Engineering or Materials Science.
· Experience in the fields of polymer or molecular electronics is a requirement.
· Understanding of the relevant theory, fabrication and characterisation techniques.
· Enthusiastic, inventive, and an aptitude for experimental work is essential.
· Good problem-solving skills.
· An ability to maintain confidentially of highly sensitive data.
· Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and the ability to report back results accurately and in a timely manner. The role will include making presentations to internal and external groups.
· Ability to stay up-to-date with current advancements in the field.
