With this growing, highly respected company developing synthesizable processors for clients worldwide. You will be providing specialist technical support to customers and 3rd parties across Europe, focussing on embedded processor, system support and DSP.
The proactive support aspects of the position will require participation in development projects, possibly as part of an international, cross organizational team and may include the generation of product collateral such as application notes and user guides. To be effective in this role you will need to develop strong local, regional and international intra and inter organizational communication and co-operation in a team-based environment.
You will be required to manage technical support activities in your area of speciality in an efficient manner utilizing the issue management systems that are available in the company and work with the rest of the applications team and the extended customer base to prioritize issues effectively based on the company’s business objectives.

With a good degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent, you must have proven experience in a design or applications environment, with solid experience in the use of FPGA’s and / or ASIC development tools in a design or application support environment, experience in the application of embedded processors and DSP in an FPGA or ASIC environment, and excellent technical knowledge with skills and experience in using Verilog and/or VHDL and associated design analysis and verification tools.

You will also have a good knowledge of, and experience in, embedded software programming, experience in the use of DSP processor architectures, and have the ability to work flexibly in a multi-tasking team environment with minimal local supervision. Your personal communication skills will be excellent and you will be happy to travel as required.

Our client is looking for talented and enthusiastic engineers to develop embedded software for their growing range of chips. Their products are based around wireless protocols including Bluetooth, UWB and other emerging standards.

Candidates should demonstrate a background in one or more of the areas below but ability is more important than specific domain knowledge or qualifications. If you've done interesting and technically challenging work, particularly in the area of wireless protocols, we would like to hear from you! Graduates or candidates with limited work experience should be able to show a keen interest in software development through personal projects.

Most development is done in C with scripts written in Perl and Make. Knowledge of assembler is useful.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:-
- Strong C coding skills
- Embedded development
- Debugging real-time systems
