A fantastic opportunity for a Degree qualified Senior Hardware Design Engineer with an established high tech Cambridge company offering a competitive salary of up to £44K plus a generous benefits package.

You will be an outstanding Digital Design Engineer with good high speed logic design experience and proven experience of analogue design and Verilog design, together with familiarity with schematics and PCB CAD packages. Exposure to C++ and Assembler would also be highly beneficial.

You will work closely with customers to generate technical requirements specifications and to run feasibility studies prior to the commencement of projects. You will technically lead projects and designs ensuring delivery on time and to the required standards. The role will also involve working with chip packaging and design groups to ensure the company's chips are optimised for their intended environments.

As a Senior Hardware Design Engineer, you will be qualified to a minimum of a 2.1 Hons in Electronics Engineering and will have proven experience of working within a semiconductor environment.

As a Senior Engineer you will be well organised, a good communicator and be able to multi-task efficiently whilst confidently leading a small team of engineers.

Key requirements:

Excellent Hardware Design skills.
Expert Digital Design/ High Speed Logic Design skills.
Good Verilog Design skills.
Good C++ and/or Assembler.
Schematics and PCB CAD packages.

Summary: Excellent opportunity for a customer-facing materials scientist with a US passport to join this leading software company. Cambridge or US, to £34k + US travel + exceptional benefits.

Our client is a leading name in materials science software for academia, education and commercial use. Their materials science software is used by some of the leading names in sectors as diverse as aerospace, defence, energy, medical, electronics and petrochemical, to assess the benefits of different materials. Using their software tools materials can be selected on a wide range of metrics including chemical and physical properties, biocompatibility, environmental impact, cost and more.

Due to the ongoing success of their products they now have an opportunity for a customer-facing materials scientist to work closely with their US customers. You will travel to sites in the US to help customers implement their software and to provide on-site consultancy and training. The ideal candidate will have a good degree in materials science, metallurgy, mechanical engineering or similar and will be a US citizen holding a valid US passport. Any knowledge of materials databases and Excel, VBA or SQL would be beneficial.

Preferably this role will be based out of Cambridge, UK although exceptional candidates who wish to be based in the US will also be considered.

This growing company is looking for a talented System Administrator to take responsibility for their IT infrastructure and internal IT support. The role is varied and demanding, covering a wide range of system administration and IT support functions across the whole company, including:

· Server hardware and software installation and maintenance, including a role in specification and purchasing
· Administration and monitoring of all network & security services, including hardware and software infrastructure as well as user-level services, such as web and mail
· Planning for upgrades and rolling out of new services
· First-line IT support for internal users, including assistance with desktop, laptop, PDA hardware and software issues
· Deployment & maintenance of servers for internal and remote use
· Support for internal business units in choosing and deploying IT services
· Provision of self-service help for end users via internal Wiki, and documentation of system admin procedures, disaster recovery strategy, etc.

You MUST live within close proximity to Cambridge as the role involves out of hours cover. You will be a fast learner with broad experience of systems administration and will have the following attributes:

· Good communication skills, with a pro-active, problem-solving attitude and ability to work in a team
· Experience of multiple platforms and operating systems – Linux, Solaris, Windows (Server, Vista, XP) – as well as a variety of hardware and virtualisation
· Thorough knowledge of networking and security: firewalls, naming services, mail servers, webservers, Sharepoint, and web-based services
· Solid understanding of installation/management/backup of fileservers and databases, e.g. SAN, NFS, Samba, MySQL etc.
· Some experience of programming or scripting, e.g. Perl, bash, PHP
· Good degree or postgraduate qualification in a numerate discipline
