This established, highly regarded company works on highly innovative, cutting edge solutions for clients. This key role is for a Principal Electronics Engineer to work alongside a world class team from the same and other disciplines. This position will allow you to be involved in many aspects of the development cycle, from concept generation through to transfer to manufacture. You will also have the opportunity to support and influence business creation in areas in which you are passionate and to be involved in project management. The position will focus on projects across a wide range of areas such as RF/comms, consumer products, sensing systems, robotics and power systems. Particular responsibilities will include design and development of printed circuit board assemblies, technical leadership on multidisciplinary projects where the electronics take centre stage, interacting with clients to understand requirements, producing architectures for electronic systems, communicating technical details effectively with clients, Design for Manufacture (DfM) reviews in collaboration with internal/external manufacturers, working closely with business developers to develop technical proposals and with project managers to deliver technical solutions, and providing mentoring and technical reviewing for junior engineers.

You will have at least a 2.1 (Hons) in an electronics subject from a leading university (you must have top A level grades too) plus, ideally, a post grad qualification. You will have a detailed understanding of electronics fundamentals with an impressive track record of producing electronic designs. Specific experience may include RF and communications, switched mode power supplies, low noise analogue design, low power, control system design and implementation, power electronics, and/or transfer to manufacture/new product introduction (NPI).

You must have a real passion for electronics with excellent personal communication skills to work with clients. Some UK and international travel is to be expected.
