Successful candidates need to have a range of software interests; as well as displaying good commercial experience in many of the common programming languages, you will be happy to add to your skills portfolio and explore new technologies and innovations. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will also work in tandem with other scientists and engineers, developing your non-software capabilities.

The requirements are:-
- Good degree from a highly-ranked university
- Commercial experience in mainstream languages (C, C++, C#, Python, etc.)
- The ability to work in whichever language is most suitable to the task in hand
- Experience in design and development of tangible software systems, including working directly with hardware
- Some exposure to Agile practices
- Good communicator, able to build relationships with colleagues and clients
