Bright, Ambitious Software Developer (23633)

Central London
£Competitive dep. on experience
Filled

Small friendly team, top company, C# / C++, Windows, GUI, Bioinformatics

This is a superb opportunity for a bright Software Developer who can offer several years of experience of coding in a C++ "style" language (C#, C++. Java) or a .NET programming language to join a small, friendly and highly successful company based in pleasant modern offices in London W1. They offer a competitive salary according to experience, excellent career development prospects, and the chance to work with cutting edge technologies.

You will be well supported but will have considerable autonomy, and your input will be actively welcomed. Your ability and desire to learn new skills is important. You should also be self-motivated with good attention to detail.

You will become a key member of the team, working on a market leading product - a search engine for high volumes of data gathered from advanced laboratory instrumentation used in life science research. This uses both C# and C++ components and runs on Microsoft Windows.

With proven software development skills, and a good knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, it is important that you can code and optimise algorithms from detailed specifications, and are well versed in designing, coding, testing and optimising multithreaded applications. You should also be very familiar with version control systems, debuggers and profilers.

If you can offer most of the following, it would be a definite plus:

  • A good degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Proven C# and C++ coding skills on Microsoft Windows
  • An in depth knowledge of .NET
  • Experience with MSBuild and VisualStudio 2012 or later
  • Knowledge of WinFormsHost and WinForms components in WPF
  • Bioinformatics or signal processing domain knowledge

With an office very close to excellent transport links, commuting across London or from the Home Counties is straightforward.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established company and contribute to their continuing success.
