Masters / PhD / Postdoc, Demonstrations, Modelling, RF / Acoustics / EM

Are you completing your PhD, Postdoc or other post-graduate / industry project? Have you taught students at university on short courses in electromagnetics? Or can provide expertise on simulations and maths models using tools such as MATLAB, MultiPhysics, Mathematica or Octave?

Our client is a specialised team of applied physicists / engineers who work with their customers on a range of physical systems and applied engineering problems. Their expertise extends to providing demonstrations and training workshops for groups as well as specific aid and support for individual researchers, scientists and engineers.

To join them you’ll have:

  • An excellent academic record (1st or 2nd class degree in physics or similar). Preferentially a PhD although Master candidates with significant, relevant post-graduate project experience will be considered.
  • Broad knowledge in electromagnetics (including all areas below) with further specialisation in one or more of the following: (1) capacitive, resistive and inductive systems; (2) electromagnets; (3) RF and microwave modelling; (4) photonics; (5) acoustics.
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written). This would be ideally demonstrated through teaching or course supervision roles in computational modelling / electromagnetics theory.

Candidates looking for a research role should not apply as this is working with others on their projects providing support for modeller and simulations.

Preference is for UK based candidates. Those overseas must be able to come to interview on their own expenses and indicate why they are looking for a role in the UK. No company sponsorship is available so applicants must be eligible to work without restriction in the UK.
