Did you graduate from university in physics or chemistry and then subsequently started your career as a software engineer? Have you a good understanding of OO programming including exposure to memory allocation, data analytics and even micro-controllers?

If you’re looking to return to a scientific environment where you can utilise your software skills and experience, this maybe the role for you!

Our client is based in Cambridge and they are looking to expand their team. As their next Software Developer, you’ll work alongside others, learning from each other and collaboratively developing novel technology. As an ambitious start-up, whilst they have longer term plans, they are more flexible than most about how they can achieve their goals, and look to incorporate your ideas.

For this role, they are looking for:

• Degree educated, preferably in physics, chemistry or applied science – will also consider maths, software or engineering.
• Commercial development experience with an OO language (C#, Java or C++) and preferably some exposure to .NET. Any additional knowledge and use of Python would be advantageous.
• An interest in developing scientific applications including data analytics tools.
• Broad problem solving skills and ability to work within a team.

Projects are various and development times can be rapid. You’ll also be given full responsibility from requirement capture, development, and optimisation to delivery and maintenance.
