This is a dynamic research and development company based in Cambridge, and is entering an exciting new phase as they bring their technology to new markets. They are looking for a dynamic and ambitious mechanical engineer to join their growing team of world-class technologists.

You will need to be able to play a significant role in a highly skilled team, prioritising activities, balancing long and short term objectives and finding efficient ways to solve problems. You must be willing to travel overseas a few times a year

You will be involved in the creation of new product concepts to maintain their technical lead; development of detailed designs which deliver the concept of a manufacturable product; work with control and electronics engineers to ensure the product design is fully compatible with their technology; have responsibility for identifying and resolving issues with the product through prototype build and test cycles; and collaborate with manufacturing partners in Asia and America.

You must have a 1st or 2.1 class from a top university in mechanical engineering or related discipline and at least 2 years’ commercial experience; solid understanding of mechanical fundamentals including mechanism design, structural and dynamics analysis; experience of 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks; experience of communicating, showing initiative, making decisions and arguing your point as a member of a team of highly skilled engineers; the ability to prioritise activities, balancing long and short term objectives and finding efficient ways to solve problems; and good customer facing skills.
