Our client is developing new products in a novel application area; as such they are expanding their modelling and analysis team and seek a Principal Engineer who will assume the lead position. This will involve developing FEA models for integrated optics through media such as glass and polymers; these are modelled in ANSYS and COMSOL for high quality, bespoke designs of opto-mechanical systems.
This is a superb opportunity for a technically astute physicist, materials scientist or mechanical engineer with evidence of working in a commercial high-tech multidisciplinary environment.
As well as taking a technical leadership role, the FEA Principal Engineer will have excellent customer-facing skills. The company has a typical high-tech style with an open culture and positive and enthusiastic outlook.
- Good degree in an engineering or science subject (e.g. physics, materials science, mechanical engineering) from a well-ranked university
- Hands-on experience of working in a high-tech multidisciplinary environment
- Robust knowledge of FEA modelling in ANSYS and COMSOL
- Superb communication skills both with colleagues and external customers
