Experienced Product / Industrial Designer (23883)

Are you a talented, experienced Product Designer? Can you offer solid mechanical design skills, particularly for injection moulded plastics, along with a good appreciation of, and proven experience in, the aesthetic design of products?

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Industrial Designer / Product Designer to join a successful company developing and manufacturing innovative consumer products that require high quality design with a strong emphasis on aesthetics.

Based in a pleasant rural location just outside of Cambridge, you will work as part of a small, motivated, multi-disciplinary team on the design and development new products. You will have an opportunity to cover all aspects of product development and to see the results of your work in a range of products that you will be proud of.

You will be specifically responsible for mechanical and aesthetic design, working closely with the technical and marketing teams to create innovative, reliable and cost-effective products. You will have an active involvement across many areas, including:

• Early stage designs of new products, generating and visualising concepts
• Detailed design of injection moulded plastic parts within SolidWorks
• Prototyping, testing and problem solving mechanical issues for reliability
• Preparation of drawings and data sets for items going into tooling and production

The role would suit a Senior Product / Industrial Designer educated to degree level or equivalent, with extensive experience of injection moulded plastics design. You should have expert knowledge of SolidWorks or similar 3D design software. Knowledge of KeyShot and the Adobe design packages would be an advantage.
