Based in their offices in Cambridge, UK, an Application Engineer is sought to join this expanding team to further develop their markets in Germany, Switzerland and Austria (and other German speaking countries). The successful candidate would be part of a commercial team, and be the company’s interface with their customers. Key industry sectors include: aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, defence, renewables, medical and electronics.

The company develop widely used materials-centric tools that industries utilise to better understand how they can develop their products and reduce development costs. As an Application Engineer, you will engage with potential customers, give demonstrations and presentations, and generate new business.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science.
  • Fluency in English AND German (both at a technical and business level).
  • Some commercial experience in one of the key industry sectors mentioned above.
  • Good presentation and interpersonal skills.

Software experience with CAD tools and use of Excel and databases (suing SQL or VBA) would be highly desirable. General knowledge of Windows application software including installation and management would be desirable.
