Software Engineer - graduate to senior (24037)
This established small team develop high-performance electronics and software systems for industrial applications. To reduce their customers’ time-to-market, the company develops custom application software and seeks a Senior Software Engineer to further these projects.
Although much of the role will concern using the Software Engineer’s robust coding skills in an OO language (C# or C++), there will also be the opportunity to work with customers to agree their requirements. Subsequently, the Software Engineer will work with the design group to propose new solutions, carry out high-level design and develop those solutions ensuring that the resultant software is rigorously tested.
The requirements are:-
- A good degree (1st or 2.1 from a well-ranked university) in science or engineering
- Excellent understanding of OO design principles and programming in C++ or C#
- Ability to work within a small design team in close liaison with clients, displaying a collaborative approach to work
- Experience developing clear user interfaces
A more junior version of the same role is also available; Software Engineers from graduate level will be considered for this. For the more junior role, candidates should display some knowledge of complex electronics/software systems through a hobby project or intern work.
There is the opportunity to meet international customers to establish requirements and integrate products. Hence, travel to Europe, the USA and Asia may be expected.
