Are you a bright Software Developer, with excellent people skills, looking for a technically demanding role with more variety and people contact - or for your first move into a customer focussed role? Maybe you are an experienced but frustrated Software Engineer seeking a new challenge?

This Junior Software Applications Engineer role offers lots of variety, challenging technical work, great people contact and an excellent salary and package (to £40k depending on experience + share options, private health/ dentistry, critical illness cover, employer contribution to pension). The company also offers a supportive and collaborative working environment.

As a Customer-facing Software Engineer you will liaise with clients (also software developers) to help them to understand, digest, tune and troubleshoot next generation networking software - an open source, high performance, TCP/IP stack - written in C.

This is a highly technical role using a substantial software code base. It would ideally suit a bright C / Linux Software Developer - possibly someone looking to move from a software development background into their first customer focussed role - as previous application / support experience is not required.

Or if you are a very bright, numerical Graduate / PhD who has an extensive collection of relevant GitHub projects, do get in touch! In addition to excellent written / verbal communication skills, you must also have the ability to learn quickly, to provide guidance, support and consultancy to customers.

The role calls for a very impressive academic background (good degree from a good university) and proficiency in C. Any knowledge of Linux, Networking (TCP/IP / Ethernet), socket programming would be a huge advantage.
