Independent Electronics Engineer / Physicist (24498)

With this well-established company who are expanding into further markets for their analytical chemistry instrumentation.

They are now looking for a degree-qualified engineer/physicist to commission their highly sophisticated systems as they reach final assembly. You will use your understanding of the instruments’ design principles in order to achieve their target performance. With complex novel systems, this will typically require troubleshooting from first principles. Commissioning will often be followed by the need to set up and recreate the performance on the customer’s premises.

Our client’s customers are based all around the world, so this role will provide the opportunity for international travel.

You’ll need to have some experience in reading circuit diagrams and be familiar with the vocabulary of electronics. You will have to assimilate new technical information quickly and independently. And being onsite will require self-reliance and calmness under pressure, plus the ability to deal with customers.

This role would suit a self-reliant physics graduate or someone from an electronics engineering background – although note that this is not an electronics development role.
