Scala Developer / Data Engineer (24508)

This recently acquired engineering team based in central Cambridge work on leading edge technology. Their semantic driven technology is driven by sophisticated models built up by data (lots of data!). The team are a split of machine learning scientists and experienced software developers, and they are looking for a Data Engineer to sit with their software team and provide the tools for their research scientists.

Requirements:

• Strong academics – likely a 1st / 2.1 in Computer Science, Maths or Physics from a top university.
• Commercial experience as a data engineer; or project experience working on big data as a software engineer. Must have worked on data exploration, data visualisation, distributed processing and exposure to building applications at scale.
• Broad technical skills including project experience with Scala (and probably also used Python, Java, JavaScript on data related projects). Further experience with either Spark or Hadoop would be highly desirable.

Any experience or just interest in machine learning applications would be beneficial.
