This is an opportunity to join one of Cambridge’s most popular and exciting companies.

Our client is looking for an experienced Build Engineer to be instrumental in innovating and improving their existing automated testing and build procedures. If you enjoy working in a lively, friendly environment, and with a wide range of technologies (which here include bespoke 3D graphics, high-quality audio, and specialised hardware - sometimes getting a sneak peek of forthcoming technologies!) this may be a place you'll really enjoy working.

You would not only be working with the existing continuous integration build set-up, ensuring that development pathway for recent products are kept clear and free-flowing, but you will be creating new automated tests. Additionally, you will be responsible for improving all aspects of the process, making sure it is relevant, fast and hassle-free for all 100+ members of the team. You will need to be someone who can be relied upon; someone who is a great communicator and able to organise their time effectively, as you will be managing builds both internally and for external releases.

Experience and skills necessary to succeed in this role:

  • A good degree in Computer Science
  • Experience with Continuous Integration tools, such as Buildbot, Jenkins and Cruise Control, as well as knowledge of version control systems such as SVN
  • Confident and fully competent in Python, Lua or a similar scripting language
  • Experience with build systems (Jam, NMake or CMake) and tool chains, such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Xcode, Clang, GCC

Experience with C++ would be a distinct advantage, but is not essential. C# skills would also be useful.

You will need full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship.
