Senior Software Engineer (24656)

A leading financial services company seeks experienced senior software engineers to assist in developing a disruptive OpenBanking web app package that will make a real difference to small businesses and freelancers. The company is based in beautiful offices in Edinburgh. Additionally, they are also very open to the senior software engineer working from home, as does approximately 40% of their current engineering team.

The Senior Software Engineer will have a background in Ruby, Rails, JavaScript and MySQL. They will be working with a team of engineers and product managers with a diverse background in programming and OpenBanking services. Machine learning is also being implemented into the products, helping our client’s software achieve seamless integration with their customers’ bank services and transactions.

Our client encourages their teams to be collaborative and supportive, and so the Senior Software Engineer will enjoy mentoring and providing technical leadership to junior members of the team. They are looking for people with an appetite for professional and personal development, as well as excellent attention to detail and a practical approach to delivering complex projects on time and on target.

Necessary knowledge and experience:

• Good commercial experience in developing and supporting web applications
• Mastery of integrating software with third party applications
• Familiarity with mentoring junior team members
• A real hunger to take on complex problems and find simple solutions
• Knowledge of Ruby, Rails, JavaScript, and MySQL

The senior Software Engineer will be degree qualified in Computer Science or a similar subject, with good A-level grades, and full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship.
