This self-funded, young company are pioneers in high-speed connectivity and charging technology.
They are currently working on a number of disruptive new projects at their modern site in Cambridge, and are looking to hire an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join their hardware team. This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact on a new team and to be involved in the very latest technology, soon to be adopted by end-users world-wide. This diverse role may also include occasional international and domestic travel.

The Senior Electronics Engineer will have had experience in high-speed data products and / or high-power mobile device management. Our client is working in the regions of 20 - 40 Gbps and up to 100W per port. The ideal candidate will be experienced in using USB3 or even Thunderbolt.

The Senior Electronics Engineer will be used to taking a requirements spec, turning it into a viable concept and seeing it through to production. They will be very comfortable with design work and firmware development; will be independent and happy to manage their own time, as well as perhaps mentor more junior members of the team.

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Significant experience taking products from the initial idea through to production
  • Proven experience in high-speed analogue / digital SCH+PCB design
  • Excellent skills in complex firmware development for PIC / ARM
  • Approximately 10 years’ experience developing high-speed data products, including experience with product safety and EMC certification

Experience and skills that will give you an edge:

  • Experience with Thunderbolt, USB3.x, Type C, PD and Ethernet
  • Thermal modelling and mechanical design skills
  • Involvement within PCI, Thunderbolt and USB SIG’s

You will also need to be degree qualified in a scientific or engineering subject, and have full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship.
