What’s your speed?

Our Cambridge based client is looking to expand its engineering team to join the race for advancement in high-speed and high-power mobile device management. Its new and technically creative hardware and software enables users to access speeds of up to 40 Gbps for data transfer and power of 100W per port.

They seek an experienced Electronics Engineer who is accomplished in developing, using and testing high-speed data products, preferably with knowledge of interfaces such as USB3.x or even Thunderbolt. The faster the speed, the better!

The Electronics Engineer will be working in a small, friendly and ambitious team. You will be involved in design work and firmware development, as well as being responsible for developing product and production test systems from concept through to full-scale manufacture. There will also be the opportunity for occasional international and domestic travel.

To be in the running for this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in high-speed analogue / digital SCH+PCB design
  • Excellent skills in complex firmware development for PIC / ARM
  • Approximately 5 years’ experience developing high-speed data products

Experience and skills that will give you the inside track:

  • Experience with Thunderbolt, USB3.x, Type C, PD and Ethernet
  • Thermal modelling and mechanical design skills
  • Involvement within PCI, Thunderbolt and USB SIG’s
  • Experience with product safety and EMC certification

You will also need to be degree qualified in a scientific or engineering subject, and have full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship.

In return, our client offers an excellent salary and benefits package, including: flexible working hours, a contributory pension, daily free lunches and an early finish on Fridays.
