Move out of research and talk to scientists about new scientific technology

This VC funded scientific instrumentation company is developing a range of products to tackle the emerging market of personal medicine through routine diagnostics. Their innovative products are aimed to take an "instant" snapshot of your current health which can be compared over time to help make better decisions.

Currently working with researchers and early adopters to their technology, the team are looking to recruit an Applications Scientist to evangelise about their products and be a technical representative for the company. The role will include instrumentation demonstrations, collaborating with technical teams, taking feedback from customers, and working closely with the sales and marketing team. The role will develop and it is expected to then encompass technical training, attendance of workshops and conferences as well as maintaining an in-depth knowledge of other technologies.

Requirements:

  • First degree in physics, biochemistry, chemical engineering or similar AND a PhD or at least 3 years’ post-graduate experience in biophysics, instrumentation or similar. Any experience with protein characterisation technologies would be desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable experience detailing their technical communication skills (through conference presentations, lab demonstrating, teaching or similar).
  • Must be able to travel (may be over 50% of the time), and have a full driving licence.

This is an excellent role for a PhD scientist to transition out of research into industry or for an applied science graduate with commercial experience looking for an outwardly-facing customer-focused role
