Designing and developing solutions for the finance sector is just one of their specialities and they are now seeking a talented and experienced Software Development Team Leader to coordinate and guide advancements and projects across predominantly UNIX and Oracle based technologies using Agile or Waterfall methodologies.

The role offers challenges across a wide variety of areas, coordinating with business analysts, architects and developers, as well as key stakeholders, as you manage the delivery of complex, simultaneous system development projects.

You will have a proven management background, whilst having retained your appetite for “hands-on” coding. You will be capable of understanding and making significant contributions to technical solutions from design through to code level, and will manage quality through application reviews and automated testing where necessary. Along with other members of the management team, you will be responsible for producing accurate delivery estimates and ensuring a smooth transition from design to delivery.

Essential skills or experience for this role:

  • A background in leading application development in Financial Services Sector
  • Accomplished at managing people and teams
  • Experienced in the development of software using UNIX, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, C, and Pro*C technologies
  • Knowledge of developing software architecture and implementation-level software design

Ideally, the successful candidate will also have proven technical expertise from the pensions industry. Particular interest will be given to experience with DC Pension Schemes, familiarity of the Scheme’s roles and practices, HMRC Rules and Regulations and pensions related employer legislation.

A good degree (2.1 or above) in Computer Science or similar technical subject from a well-respected university is essential, as is full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship.
