Developing designs for distributed cloud-based systems

Are you an experienced software engineer who wants to contribute to real-world devices that make an impact on people’s day to day lives? Would you like to be involved in wearables, the Internet of Things, smart homes and connected health? Do you have an excellent understanding of one or more programming languages, such as C#, C++ or Python? If so, you may the person our world-leading client is looking for.

Based in Cambridge, our client is a technology leader and influencer, working on projects such as: creating configuration interfaces for networks of wireless robots, or therapeutic connected devices to aid patients with brain injuries.

The right person will join a multi-discipline team of software engineers, mathematicians, front-end developers and DevOps specialists. They will be working with technology leaders to advance architectural design for distributed cloud-based systems.

Minimum experience and skills necessary for this role:

  • A good degree (2.1 or above) in Computer Science or similar technical or scientific subject
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of NoSQL, relational and graph databases
  • In depth knowledge of one or more programming languages, such as C#, C++ or Python
  • Experience implementing robust software security for use on the internet

Ideally, you would also have a number of the following:

  • Good knowledge of NodeJS, Java or .NET and networking technologies such as IPv6, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS
  • Experience working in Agile teams and DevOps practises

Full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship will also be required.
