Senior / Principal Solutions Engineer (24901)

Cambridge

Architecture, client liaison and solution development; expenses-paid travel

This engaging role requires a senior software engineer with an architect’s mindset, and an interest in client contact, to design, develop and deliver high end IoT / RTLS software solutions to advanced industries. These are “mission critical” systems for clients, non-trivial and tailored for their specific needs.

You will work with clients and your fellow developers to establish requirements and capabilities, and ultimately to deliver robust, tested solutions. The company you will join has a portfolio of specialised technology which will be at your disposal – this is not “run of the mill” CRM software, but high-tech systems used in cutting edge manufacturing and other such demanding applications. Whilst powerful, these solutions need significant tailoring to meet a client’s exacting needs, and some applications may require significant bespoke work.

Your CV will show your strong technical degree and relevant career history. Commercial experience in C#, preferably with additional languages, and clear capability to work with heavily data-driven systems are all required. Oracle or other relational SQL database experience is also necessary, as is full existing permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship.

Strong candidates will exhibit excellent written (as in your CV) and verbal communication skills. Evidence of ability to precisely describe complex scenarios, in a manner understandable to clients, is favoured. Work can be fast paced; a calm and critical thinking candidate can do well.

Expenses-paid travel is likely to be required within the UK and Western Europe for approximately 6-10 working days per month.
