Life Science Postgraduate Consultant (25154)

Are you a postgraduate in the life sciences looking for an interesting, client-facing role in the commercial world? Scientists with an interest in data mining, data science and NLP are encouraged to consider this forward-looking company who help develop innovative sources of data for their clients.

The company’s acclaimed technology uses NLP and machine learning to help scientists and scientific companies to extract meaningful data from vast information sources. Your aim will be to engage with clients, understand their needs and tailor this technology in meaningful ways to their needs in the life science industries. You’ll be working hands-on in this area in Python.

You will need to have:

• A good degree and postgraduate studies in biology, genomics or bioinformatics, and top A-level grades; commercial experience is a bonus, but is not required
• A strong interest in a commercial role which takes advantage of your specialist knowledge, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team and meet deadlines
• An interest in data, data science and working in a company with expertise in machine learning and natural language processing (NLP)
• The mind-set to classify and categorise data, for example ontologically or taxonomically
• Good Python programming skills and experience with resources such as PubMed and Entrez
