Software Tools Developer (25208)

Cambridge
up to £50,000 (pro-rata)
Filled

Are you looking for a 3 day week, working on software tools for maths models?

A centrally based Cambridge consultancy is looking for an experienced Software Developer to join them. In this role, you’ll work with analysts and consultants, providing bespoke software tools to optimise and assist in building complex mathematical models for technology.

This is very much an independent development role which will require communicating directly with users (requirement capture), designing and building tools, prototyping and maintaining software code. Most of these projects will be stand-alone tools to assist in building complex maths models, providing an intuitive (possibly web) interface.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified (ideally in numerate subject) with experience in a commercial environment in software development.
  • Past experience working on .NET based code (ideally C# and MVC).
  • Exposure to technologies in databases, web applications, cloud and algorithm development.

Projects are expected to be delivered quickly and are more likely to be several days of work rather than months. Whilst these tools are not products that are sold, they can be provided for clients to use. Projects should be therefore documented and well-commented, so code can be re-used when required.

It would be useful for this Developer to be at their Cambridge offices (to talk with users), but there is flexibility for home-working for the right person. In return, there is a good salary plus package.

Please note that 100% remote working is not on offer for this role. Similarly, this is not a contract position.
