Provide expertise in optics / plasmonics for a range of applied projects

Whether you are completing a PhD, research Masters; near the end of a first postdoc; or already working in industry but looking for a new challenge – this company is looking for a bright maths modeller to join their Applications Engineering team. In this role, you will bring your expertise and knowledge in optics and high-frequency electromagnetics, providing specific understanding and demonstrable awareness in this field. Responsibilities can include: demonstrations at workshop events, providing training, and feasibility studies based on first principles.

Requirements:

  • Strong academic background including a first degree in Applied Maths, Physics or Engineering. Preference is for a PhD holder (minimum is a Masters).
  • Demonstrable project experience with a wide range of high-frequency electromagnetics including the underlying equations behind optics, microwaves, photonics, plasmonics, lasers, and antenna design.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Any past experience in teaching or technical demonstrating would be desirable.
