Situated in a friendly, green and cultural city, this high-tech company make advanced 3D software. They can offer you a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in which to grow your programming skills, and they’ll pay very competitively. Joining them, they’ll take you step by step through not only what you need to know about software engineering, but also the way they do things, they can offer good structure and an in-house style, and a variety of work to do, to help focus and cultivate your skills.

There is plenty of mathematics in what they do, most especially in geometry and trigonometry. They work with polygonal models, as used in CAD and in video games, so skills you build will be transferrable. It’s a very approachable kind of maths for someone who thinks the right way, you can see your results visually, and it’s rewarding to get right.

You’ll need a PhD in mathematics or a related subject, and a 1st or 2:1 from a good university (Russell Group or equivalent would be indicative). You'll have strong mathematics particularly around geometry and trigonometry – importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys these things! You’ll have an interest in software, and existing experience writing code is great (C or C++ would be ideal). You’ll have great communication skills, and you’ll be analytically minded, receptive, and above all good at problem solving.
