It’s important that you have a logical and controlled approach to software development and that you are comfortable leading and taking part in reviews to ensure the quality and reliability of the products are of the highest standard.

Experience and skills necessary for this role:

  • A good degree in a technical subject such as Computer Science or Mathematics
  • Must have experience of working as a Senior Developer, designing and programming on a range of platforms including Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Significant experience of working on implementation for intricate, multi-component projects
  • In depth knowledge and experience of C is essential and should be accompanied with good knowledge of at least one other language, such as C++, Java or Python

A Senior Software Developer will set themselves apart from the crowd if they can also show evidence of an interest in cryptography, computer security techniques and information systems security.

The successful Senior Software Developer will be required to achieve baseline security level clearance (BPSS) and will need to provide proof of their identity; full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship, and their employment or education history for the past 3 years.
