Based in Cambridge, this venture funded technology company is looking to provide biodegradable alternatives for plastics through innovative plant based solutions. They are looking to use their technology in encapsulation applications for food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, healthcare and home care and are looking to recruit an Industrial Scientist with experience in microbeads, emulsifiers, and organic coatings. In this role, projects will include leading technical advancement, develop microcapsules, work collaboratively with customer R&D teams and contribute to product development strategy.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified (in chemistry or similar) and research experience (Masters, PhD, Postdoc) with organic materials.
  • Industry experience in microencapsulation including technical hands-on understanding of soft matter, emulsions, and microfluidics. A broader organic material science background would be desirable. Further experience in manufacture and process engineering would be beneficial.
