Join a scientific / engineering team to build desktop instrumentation systems

Due to rapid growth, this company is looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team – contributing to the design and development of new scientific instruments used in diagnostics and drug discovery. Projects will include building and testing rigs and prototypes, as well as contributing to development with manufacture in mind.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in mechanical engineering (other high-related subjects may be considered such as mechatronics).
  • Demonstrable experience with SolidWorks evidencing competence with CAD to design and develop complicated devices.
  • Experience of development of a high-tech product within an industrial work environment (long internship or year work placement, or from employment).
  • Demonstrable project experience with complex builds (including prototyping, testing and manufacture). Experience with one or more of optics, fluidics, electronics, thermal control or pneumatics would be highly desirable.
