Scientific software development, often astronomy based

Although this is a software role, a degree or PhD in Physics will help you understand the various overall systems you will be working on. As a Graduate / PhD Software Developer you will have experience writing C++ software, preferably on a Linux platform. Also knowledge of Python software will be an advantage.

This company employs the brightest engineers, so you will have a 1st or 2.1 in a technical degree from one of the world’s leading universities to be able to keep up with the team.

The office location has good public transport links and the role gives you the occasional chance to travel to Europe and the USA.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a company specialising in developing software that controls instruments and telescopes used in astronomy, high-energy physics and other "big science" projects. You will join a small team of friendly, dedicated developers who are able to offer you support and specific on the job training as necessary.
