Senior C++ Developer - High Performance Code (25376)
Looking for a fresh challenge? This role would suit an experienced C and C++ developer with excellent optimisation, multithreading, and Linux skills. For instance, you might be an embedded developer looking for a change of direction, or someone with experience in creating massively parallel software for rapid data processing.
This opportunity is with a well-funded, internationally based fintech start-up at an early stage. You would be joining a small team of developers, instrumental in crafting advanced algorithms to run in a highly optimised and massively parallel fashion, shifting vast quantities of data to extract valuable insights and trends.
You will be a hands-on C and C++ developer, with sufficient commercial experience to allow to you provide leadership on technical issues and mentoring to more junior colleagues. As the company grows you would have the opportunity to take on the leadership of the Cambridge development team.
You would need:
- A 1st or 2:1 in Computer Science or other applicable subject from a Russell group (or equivalent) university
- Substantial commercial software development experience using C, C++ and Linux.
- Expertise in creating multithreaded code, optimised for execution speed.
- Existing right to work in the UK as our client is not able to sponsor
The company’s culture is based around a flat hierarchy, with a strong emphasis on innovation and Agile practices. It would be helpful if you were able to act as Scrum Master in the short term, so a sound knowledge of Agile development would be a distinct advantage.
