Sensor technologies, Cutting-edge development

Summary: a superb opportunity for bright Electronic Engineers/Physicists to develop cutting-edge technologies.

Our client, part of a global electronics company, provides technical consultancy services to manufacturing partners. Their patented technologies are exploited across the group to create technical and commercial advantage. Close relationships with our client's sister companies and their customers are used to spur innovation for next generation technologies.

Due to growth, our client is seeking exceptional technologists with a strong background in Electronics or Physics, to be based in their superb premises outside Cambridge.

This is a broad role and there is scope to tailor the role to your skills and experience, but broadly your activities and responsibilities are likely to include:

· Creation of new ideas for technologies, products and processes
· Design of innovative sensors and sensor systems
· Development of prototype technology demonstrators
· Development, simulation, test and troubleshooting of electronic circuits
· Transfer of know-how to other organisations within the group of companies
· Occasional travel to sister companies in the UK, Europe and worldwide

You will have:

· An excellent academic track record, including outstanding A levels, a 2.1/1st in Electronics Engineering or Physics, and possibly a PhD
· Industrial or academic experience in sensor or technology development
· Additional interests in some of the following: production processes, sensor interfacing, ASIC design, embedded systems, schematic design, PCB layout and writing software for micro-controllers, EMC standards & test methods, design for EMC
· A willingness to learn
· A creative approach to thinking about fundamental science
