Are you a talented creator of business software, something of a Microsoft specialist, looking to develop real software in East Anglia?

Located near the beautiful city of Norwich, our client is a leading provider of software as a service to the aviation industry. Due to high demand for their services they are looking to increment the number of quality developers on the team (in a thread safe fashion, lockless or otherwise).

You will have a degree in computer science or a relevant subject from an established UK university - which not only boosted your geek credentials, but taught you a thing or two about database design and software architecture. You'll also doubtless have picked up numerous exciting facts about tuples, finite state automata and other compsci topics - whether or not you enjoyed the theory, you'll be able to explain their practical applications on the back of an envelope, and you'll rely on them to help you develop high quality code for real businesses.

This won't be your first job, as you'll have gained a smattering of commercial experience applying C# to business logic, ASP.NET to front end web development, and designing and developing databases using SQL Server. You'll be able to weave them together to create new products, and you'll be equally happy casting a critical eye over existing code and databases and working out how to improve them.

You'll be someone who can tell inheritance from overloading and polymorphism from abstraction. You can tell an entity from an object, and ER modelling from OO A&D. You can tell a stored procedure from a trigger and a clustered from a non-clustered index. You can left join, right join, inner join and outer join, implicitly or otherwise. You can find performance bottlenecks in real systems, whether that means firing up a profiler or a query analyser or instrumenting the code by hand. And what's more you'll love doing it and be good at it, both by yourself and as part of a team of like minded individuals.

You'll be ready to fight your corner in the interests of creating good software, but you'll also be ready to be humbled by others' good ideas and snap them up and make them work. And you can easily move between discussion, maintenance and green field development without a break in your stride.
