This department works on a range of solutions including development of micro-mechanical, piezoelectric, fluidic and optical devices for markets ranging from healthcare and opthalmics to printing and consumer products. This key role is for a bright, enthusiastic, hands-on chemist or materials scientist with both an aptitude and interest in commercial development. You will have excellent academic credentials, broad specific aptitude and interests, an intuitive grasps of fundamental scientific principles, and demonstrable drive and commitment. You must have an excellent academic background with A’s & B’s as a minimum at A level, at least a 2.1 Hons in Chemistry or Material Science from a top university and a PhD from a leading institute. You must have experience in formulation chemistry (in particular inks) and/or materials science applied within a commercial environment, with experience in one or more of the following areas an advantage: ink formulation; plastics properties, modifications and selection; biochemistry and biosensing; user-material interaction; piezoelectric materials; adhesive formulation and selection. You must have good communication skills and be happy participating and leading client meetings, communication and management.
