There are two aspects of being a CTO for a company: activities relating to driving the design team internally and ones which handle the external technical functions of the company. This company wishes to grow its internal software tool and launch it as a high value product in his own right. They seek a CTO to drive this forward and handle the external technical activities. Hence they are seeking a CTO with entrepreneurial characteristics and most likely previous experience in this type of pioneering role.

They are a small company that only take on the brightest of individuals; hence you will need to have an excellent technical degree from a leading university and since then worked in a software R&D environment as a developer. Ideally this would have been in advanced machine learning in tasks relating to NLP. Skills in deep learning, data mining and automated knowledge extraction will be helpful.

This role is a major step forward for this company as they branch out in to a new area. You will need to be able to inspire people into believing you can deliver on this new venture. You will be a self-starter, motivated and with the ability to learn new technologies with ease and possess a genuine interest in and passion for technology, including Artificial Intelligence.
