This growing, highly successful company specialises in the design and development of specialised search software for a wide range of clients. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Software Developer to join a high calibre team. With a good degree from a top university in a numerate subject you will have excellent skills in Java; commercial experience with the software development lifecycle including: specification, development, documentation, testing, and maintenance; experience with typical industry tools including: frameworks, interactive development environments, software version control, build systems, testing frameworks, and bug tracking systems; good oral and written communication skills; an energetic, enthusiastic, pro-active, problem-solving attitude; and the ability to work in a close-knit, highly intelligent team.

You will also have at least some of the following: cross platform development experience on Linux and Windows; good knowledge of other programming languages (e.g. JavaScript, C++, Python, Lua, or Perl); and / or experience of one or more of the following: big data, database internals, web front-ends, data visualisation, distributed systems, document processing, enterprise document management, full-text search, grid computing, natural language processing, semantic technology, or XML processing.
