Our client is a leading name in materials science software for academia, education and commercial use. Their materials science software is used by some of the leading names in sectors as diverse as aerospace, defence, energy, medical, electronics and petrochemical, to assess the benefits of different materials. Using their software tools materials can be selected on a wide range of metrics including chemical and physical properties, biocompatibility, environmental impact, cost and more.
Due to the ongoing success of their products they now have an opportunity for a computer-adept materials scientist to contribute to the ongoing maintenance and development of their materials property databases. The ideal candidate will have a good degree in materials science, metallurgy, mechanical engineering or similar and will have some understanding of the properties of metals, polymers, ceramics and composite materials. You should also be a competent user of Excel, VBA and databases such as SQL.
