This is a superb opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging IT environment as part of a small dedicated team within a world-leading international software company. Based at their offices in central Cambridge, close to the railway station, you will support the complex needs of many technical software development teams.

The group supports a diverse range of operating systems and hardware which is constantly developing as the business needs change. Customer requirements drive a need to support everything from Beta and pre-release versions through to legacy operating systems and to keep them working together. As a key technical role you will be working to support and enhance the IT infrastructure to ensure a productive working environment for software development.

You will be directly responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of system software and hardware used by groups involved in the development, release, maintenance and support of commercial software products. Your role will include system administration, monitoring, upgrades, maintenance, installation, setup, configuration, testing and deployment in complex multi-operating systems environment. You will also liaise with the other groups and divisions to meet relevant standards and levels of compliance.

You should also be well versed in data storage management, multi-protocol filers (NetApp) and ideally virtualization technologies (Vsphere).

You should of course have excellent communication / team working skills, able to work collaboratively with the software development teams - to understand their requirements and to encourage and develop best practices by building good working relationships.
