will involve the engineering and detailed design of print heads and systems, for industrial and commercial applications.

You will have:
- A strong academic record including a good degree (1st or 2.1), in mechanical engineering;
- Postgraduate experience in precision mechanical system design;
- Experience in handling designs from development into the production environment (design for manufacture);
- A solid understanding of engineering materials and processes; and have an understanding of fluid systems and properties, possibly gained in the field of printing or medical systems, and will be familiar with 3D CAD (preferably Solidworks).

Our client combine highly creative lateral thinking with excellent technical skills and a broad base of industry experience to form a powerful development team. Work ranges from undertaking complete product developments from concept to market, to consulting with clients on their technology, strategy or development processes.

The Electromechanical group specialises in the design and development of complex products serving a range of industry sectors including high volume consumer products, scientific instruments, mechatronics, healthcare products, automotive & industrial drives and industrial systems.

They are currently looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to take a lead role in planning, proposal generation, liaison with clients, management of a multidisciplinary teams and hands-on product development.

This is a senior role and so you will need several years of industrial experience in product development, with a proven ability to manage a team of engineers and technicians. There should be evidence of excellence within the work you have been responsible for. You will have a creative approach to problem solving and concept generation, an appreciation of the use of engineering analysis in product development and have had hands-on experience of 3D CAD, rapid prototyping, CFD and some FEA.

Direct experience of product development in the consumer product or automotive industries would be beneficial, including knowledge of high volume manufacturing processes and electromechanical technology.

Experience of any of the following is necessary:

- Fluent or other CFD package
- CAD (Pro/Engineer or SolidWorks)

Experience of any of the following is beneficial:

- ANSYS/ABAQUS or other FEA package
