This is a superb opportunity to work as a Numerical / Business Analyst within a large, highly successful, commercial group. The role calls for a very bright, high-calibre numerate Graduate or PhD - 2.1 / 1st Class Hons and very good 'A' level grades.

With the opportunity for rapid career development, you will work closely alongside experienced managers - undertaking a detailed analysis of recent business events and working on longer-term projects to develop clear reporting for regular business activities. A key part of the role is to not just report what happened, but to analyse the root causes and recommend improvements.

The role is highly analytical - much of the work focuses on reviewing how the business is performing and reporting back what has been happening and why. Your work will frequently be presented to senior Directors, providing the information necessary for critical business decisions.

You must offer excellent numerical skills and the ability to analyse data and draw out insights from the analysis. You should have a proven aptitude for learning and using new programming languages - ideally with some knowledge of VBA, SQL, Excel. You should also be able to communicate complex information to a non-technical audience.

You will be encouraged to take early responsibility, with support from experienced team members who provide on-the-job coaching.

Our client is a fast-growing, dynamic and highly successful 3D medical imaging company providing imaging systems used in the treatment of cancer. You will join a small, friendly team of likeminded people and have the opportunity to make a real difference.

Our client is seeking a talented Research Engineer with significant commercial OR academic experience to be primarily responsible for researching and developing new features and applications of their world-leading 3D image processing technology.

You'll have a good degree in mathematics, science or engineering, and likely a PhD or similar experience in a commercial R&D environment.

Specific skills sought are:
- Algorithm development and implementation
- Prototyping skills in C++, C# or an environment such as Matlab or Mathematica
- The ability to clearly document problems, research methodologies, test protocols, and results

You'll be able to demonstrate exceptional problem solving skills and the ability to communicate solutions clearly and methodically. You'll be able to work well in a team and alone, where necessary, and show initiative in gaining in-depth experience in areas of technology relevant to the company's products.

Ideally you will have some of the following:
- Knowledge of photogrammetry, computer vision in particular stereo reconstruction, camera calibration.
- Imaging technologies and digital imaging, processing and analysis, such as image and surface registration.
- Medical device development or medical imaging applications.
- Working with real time systems and/or multi threaded applications.

Working with a senior fund manager, you will be assisting in the research and coding of quantative models, validating data and supporting the team - this will evolve into quantative research and development.

You MUST have an outstanding academic background. You are most likely to have a PhD (or certainly have been considering a PhD after achieving top marks in your undergraduate degree and A levels) with a 1st Class Hons from only the very best universities in subjects such as Statistics, Applied Physics, Applied Maths or Financial Maths. Coupled with all A's at A level, you will have some finance knowledge (preferably commercial experience at a bank or hedge fund but they will consider academic experience or a strong personal interest), and have some programming experience in modern programming languages. Any experience of modelling and financial analysis with a good background in calculus and statistics will be a real plus.

A Physicist or Materials Scientist, do you have previous working knowledge of device analysis and statistical methods? Our client is an innovative leader in cutting edge display technology and seeks an experienced scientist to:

· Design and execute experiments to evaluate the performances and the potential of new materials either fluorescent or phosphorescent emitters or charge transporting systems.
· Design and execute experiments to correlate material and process parameters to device performances.
· With the help of modern statistical tools support the identification of correlations between materials properties, processing parameters and device performances.

This exciting opportunity requires ideally a candidate with a PhD or equivalent research experience in physics or material science who will:

· Design and propose experiments, write batch travellers and analyse device data to identify potentially interesting materials and to optimise their performances.
· Proactively collect relevant data and analyse them to extract statistically significant correlations between device properties and material and process parameters.
· Clearly report findings and formulate recommendations either within or outside the organisation.
· Support device fabrication and testing when required (especially in evaluating new methodology).

In addition to the above, it would be highly desirable to have:

· Hands-on experience of device fabrication.
· Knowledge of some programming experience (Visual Basic, Labview).
· Good knowledge of chemistry (to A level or equivalent).
