This leading R&D company is currently looking for a Software Project Manager. The R&D Software Programme Manager plays a key role in the development of key software deliverables (including embedded firmware in chip level products, host software, development tools and test software) actively managing the development process from requirements capture planning and resource estimation through to design implementation industrialisation and eventual volume production.

Key Responsibilities:

- Capture software development requirements from external and internal customers;
- Produce and maintain a detailed Software Development plan;
- Negotiate for and manage programme resources;
- Coordinate technical activities across multiple software development and test functions as well as will other R&D functions and SBU development groups;
- Resolve issues or conflicts locally or escalate as necessary to ensure progress to plan;
- Communicate development status to programme sponsors at Program Review Boards;
- Risk Management and action tracking;
- Develop and improve programme management infrastructure for Software Development

Person Specification:

Required:
- Degree (or equivalent qualification/ experience) in maths/science/software/electronics
- Strong team leadership skills, ability to inspire and motivate·
- Proven project management skills, with a focus on timely delivery and a track record of successful management of complex technical projects
· Decision-making skills with a focus on problem identification, solution recommendation and implementation
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information to a range of audiences
· Sound understanding of the key technical elements to software development
· Enthusiasm and drive
· Experience with Microsoft Project

Desired:
· Awareness of wireless technologies (for example, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, UWB)

With a good degree in software/maths/science or equivalent experience, you will have previously gained project leadership skills. The Software Programme Manager will capture software development requirements from customers, both internal and external; produce and maintain a detailed Software Development plan; Negotiate for and manage programme resources; Coordinate technical activities across multiple software development and test functions, as well as with other R&D functions and development groups.

Are you a Senior Software Engineer with an excellent understanding of high level programming languages, ideally (C/C++)? As Principal Engineer, this is a lead role in projects developing embedded software running on the chip processors or associated software running on a host processor.

In this challenging role with this well-established company the Software Engineer will take responsibility in small scale software architecture, and within this talented team, develop and test software of major scale and complexity to agreed timescales.

With a good academic record (degree in a relevant discipline) you will have excellent proven commercial or equivalent experience of at least one high level programming language; excellent proven understanding of software design techniques; understanding of debug techniques; and a good understanding of software architecture.

It would be preferable but not essential to have gained this experience in a wireless environment, on such protocols as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or UWB.

The Principal Engineer will take a lead role in projects to:
· Carry out task definition and work breakdown including time estimation.
· Develop and maintain new tools for R&D designers to use in the development and testing of their designs.
· Maintain and manage third party software from EDA companies, used by R&D designers to develop and test their designs.
· Oversee the test and release of the combinations of internal and third party software used by R&D designers.
· Interface with other groups, including IS, to assist in enhancing design productivity and license efficiency.
· Work to maximise ROI on licensed EDA software.
· Act as a key contributor in a complex environment. May coordinate and lead the activities of others.
· Ensure the quality of the solution; work with Project Managers to ensure timely delivery of projects.

Ideally with a degree in Physics, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or another relevant scientific discipline you will have:
· Experience in programming in TCI, Skill, Perl/Python or similar in a Linux environment.
· Knowledge of techniques for computer aided design of analogue circuits including schematics and layouts, analogue circuit simulation using a SPICE language and some experience of using analogue design automation tools.
· Proven semiconductor industry design and/or design automation experience.
· The ability to coordinate and lead the activities of other engineers.
· The ability to collaborate effectively with other technical staff and strategic business units.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills.

This superb environment needs the skills of an experienced Technical Architect. You will be responsible for all technical aspects of the assigned development project, and be able to take on the role as technical leader to support the development of the test mobile product line with emphasis on wireless communication issues, system definition, implementation support and test teams. You will also be responsible (in conjunction with the Project Manager and Team Leaders) for ensuring the development process is efficient, and that the optimum development and diagnostic tools are being used.

You must have a good understanding of digital communications, signal processing, general programming techniques, 3GPP WCDMA, and 3GPP LTE (desirable) and have experience of full product life cycle development, C language and programming skills, be familiar with VHDL, strong system engineering knowledge, and have a thorough knowledge of Digital system and circuit design, and hardware development.

You will also have an excellent university degree in electronics engineering, telecommunications engineering, digital signal processing or a similar discipline plus relevant work experience with an understanding of digital communication systems. You must have vast experience in mobile communications systems, alongside real-time DSP, WCDMA Rel 6 or above expertise. Good understanding of and appreciation of C, Microsoft office tools proficient in lab equipment use (VSA, SMIQ, MS8608A), WCDMA knowledge for generating test vectors. 3GPP Higher and lower layer experience would be ideal. Good understanding of Cellular/3G is necessary incorporating the following technologies: MIMO, OFDM, WCDMA, FEC.

You must be of a senior staff level, and line management experience for a small technical team is a plus but not mandatory. Team leading experience is a plus, but is not mandatory.

Our client, a market leader in providing wireless solutions to clients worldwide requires a Digital Test Engineer who will collaboratively develop and support new and existing test technology and flow in digital physical design. You will:

· Provide a comprehensive digital failure diagnostic service to Quality and Product Engineering.
· Support all digital test related re-work for yield improvement and test escape issues.
· Monitor and assist with ATPG deliverables to Test Development for the test DR3 requirements and provide as necessary assistance on digital scan and memory test.
· Monitor and review current and new scan and ATPG methodologies across the industry and help integrate into the digital test flow as appropriate.
· Liaise with EDA vendor(s), foundry and internal groups to help ensure best practices and assist in flow and tool usage issues.

With an Electronics (or equivalent) Masters degree, the ideal candidate requires:

· The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
· Experience in scan design, ATPG, memory BISTs and diagnostic techniques
· Very good understanding on full digital physical design flow
· At least 5 years of relevant experience
· Proficiency in TCL programming

It would be advantageous to have:

· Experience with Synopsys & Cadence tools
· Knowledge of IC packages
· Knowledge in using automated test systems and test equipment

Senior Software Engineer / Team Leader - C / C++, Embedded Systems, Multimedia / Audio Processing

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a successful team on innovative products for the consumer market. Along with extensive hands-on design and coding involvement this senior role will also include some technical leadership responsibilities. You will join an extremely strong technical team of engineers designing, developing and integrating a variety of embedded software for use in their multimedia high-volume consumer electronics products.

In addition to hands-on coding in high level languages such as C and C++ within a resource constrained multi-processor environment, you will also lead small technical sub projects, including task definition and work breakdown, time estimation, planning, tracking and reporting. The work is varied and will include software / firmware development and integration, systems engineering, test and debugging. This is at all levels including drivers, middleware, UI, 3rd party IP technology integration, audio codecs and streaming protocols.

With an impressive, relevant degree from a top university and extensive commercial experience in a similar environment, you should have an excellent understanding of Embedded Software design techniques and solid fluency in C. You should also have a very strong understanding of debugging techniques in a complex real-time embedded environment and of source management (e.g. SVN) and bug tracking systems (e.g. Bugzilla).

Any exposure to C++, DSP assembler or scripting languages such as Python & / or knowledge of digital audio systems / drivers / audio codecs / networking would be of particular interest.

Software / Electronics Communications Infrastructure Engineer

Based in Crawley, this is an exciting role with a recognised and innovative world leader A rapidly growing company, they now seek an experienced Communications Infrastructure Engineer to join the team - as they progress from initial prototypes / beta test to formally released products. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within a dynamic and supportive culture.

This role is particularly suited to candidates who can offer experience of middleware development and system integration within a telecoms or set-top-box environment.

In this key role you will be responsible for:

- Agreeing the requirements for the design, implementation and support of the communications infrastructure surrounding their innovative products, including: communications over IP; performance data retrieval; communications with industry standard in-home embedded electronics devices.
- Ensuring that communications interfaces meet UK and European standards, and influencing the development of these standards where possible This includes RF standards for CE marking as well as communications standards to home networks and smart meters.
- The overall definition and implementation of remote access / diagnostic communication interfaces, including live data access and remote re-flashing.
- The specification / implementation of data capture, reduction and presentation.
- External communications interfaces.
- Specifying and procuring remote logging and instrumentation equipment.
- Supporting field trials to ensure data quality.

In addition to an appropriate engineering degree, you should have proven experience of defining and implementing communications protocols; experience of data reduction for communication from many points over a public network and experience of data collation and presentation. You should also have experience of specifying and/or implementing embedded software systems or sub-systems.

Any exposure to the following technologies would be particularly beneficial:

- Short range RF, mesh networks, point to point serial comms
- Implementing low cost RF solutions (e g Zigbee)
- Bus networks / Controller Area Network (CAN)
- Diagnostics protocols (e g KWP2000, CCP, Smart Appliances)
- Project management skills
