Reporting directly to the VP of software, your responsibilities will include defining the detailed test plans, day-to-day line management, maintaining test metrics, reporting on test progress, and software release to final QA. Attention to detail is essential - as in an ability to generate full coverage test cases.

With a solid academic record, you will have extensive software test experience and the ability to learn quickly - with a natural ability to manage a test team to enable robust, quality software to be shipped to schedule.

A knowledge of operating systems design / system level software, silicon/software co-design, and networkings (Ethernet, TCP/IP), code coverage analysis, test tracking tools such as Aptest, IXIA hardware and software test tools, Python and PCIe would be a major advantage

You should be educated to HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and have previous experience of working in an electronic calibration laboratory. A broad knowledge of electronic test equipment and calibration methods is essential, as is experience of RF and Microwave instruments. An understanding of auto-calibration systems would be an advantage with experience of writing test system software. You must be computer literate and a good team player.

You will be responsible for the development, maintenance and implementation of test scripts for both the GUI and back-end of a real-time information extraction system. Working closely with the development team, you will review feature requirements, produce test plans and carry out testing and analyse the results on Unix and Windows platforms.

Part of the technical support team, you will be taking email and telephone requests for support, diagnosing the problems described, generating and testing solutions and providing a clear response at an appropriate level of detail for the customer.

You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work with other staff to get across new ideas and respond to requirements. You must also be able to work in a fast-moving start-up environment, which requires multi-tasking, flexibility and the ability to work in a small, highly motivated team. You will have commercial experience of the full software lifecycle and experience of command-line tools and scripting. Any experience of commercial programming, software validation/QA or compliance will be advantageous.
