This is an outstanding opportunity for a DSP Software Engineer to develop DSP Software for highly optimised DSPs.

The role will involve the understanding and optimisation of audio processing algorithms, their modelling and validation. This will involve contact with the hardware and software departments and occasionally suppliers and customers.

Key responsibilities:

- You will be responsible for the development of DSP audio software, including codecs and advanced features such as comfort noise generation, packet loss concealment and voice activity detection.
- This will include understanding of echo cancellation, latency, noise removal and audio codecs.
- DSP coding in assembler with attention to optimisation.
- Maintaining current and new software.
- Original thought for solving complex problems in a tightly constrained embedded real-time environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with recent hands-on experience in the development of DSP software. You will need to show an awareness of the software development process for writing software destined for high volume consumer applications.

Required skills/experience:
Must have:
- DSP assembler software development experience and a good level of system understanding
- Experience of developing and debugging DSP software in a real-time resource-constrained system
- The ability to work in and contribute in a technical environment
- The ability to take ownership of projects with minimum supervision
- The ability to communicate at all levels
- A strong degree in Electronics or similar

Desired skills/experience:
It would be beneficial to have:
- Experience of audio hardware, analysis, testing and system engineering
- Experience of Matlab

This growing software company specialises in data mining solutions for blue chip clients. You will be responsible for the development, maintenance and implementation of test scripts for both the GUI and back-end of a real-time information extraction system. Working closely with the development team, you will review feature requirements, produce test plans and carry out testing and analyse the results on Unix and Windows platforms.

Part of the technical support team, you will be taking email and telephone requests for support, diagnosing the problems described, generating and testing solutions and providing a clear response at an appropriate level of detail for the customer.

You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work with other staff to get across new ideas and respond to requirements. You must also be able to work in a fast-moving start-up environment, which requires multi-tasking, flexibility and the ability to work in a small, highly motivated team. You will have commercial experience of the full software lifecycle and experience of command-line tools and scripting. Any experience of commercial programming, software validation/QA or compliance will be advantageous.

It is expected that you will delegate and involve group members in some of these activities, however you will have ultimate responsibility within the group.
