Working within our client's multidisciplinary teams on major development projects, you will be responsible for developing mechanical designs for a range of products and processes in the healthcare, consumer, and industrial sectors. Your challenge is to solve some of the most intractable of problems. Requirements:
- 1st or 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering from a leading university
- Strong abilities in many of the following areas: Concept generation; Mechanism design; Materials selection; Analysis of static, dynamic, fluid or thermodynamic systems; Design for high and low volume manufacture
- Proficient in 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred)
- At least 3 years experience in one of the following commercial environments: technical / design consultancy; technology start-up; new product development department
- Strong drive to rapidly absorb and develop skills in a wide range of engineering disciplines

You will work directly with clients on a variety of operating assignments, providing innovative technical consultancy developing creative technical solutions for break-out products and manufacturing processes, with a particular focus on special purpose machinery design in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.

With a good degree in a relevant engineering subject, you will bring:

- Project management in the build of instruments and machines for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries;
- The ability to look at processes and convert them from front end configuration to hardware implementation (including hands on design); and
- Experience of biological engineering/instrument engineering/machinery design from a biotechnology company, machine manufacturer or engineering consultancy.

A flexible and adaptable approach and a proven track record in working in project teams as well as leading projects of highly skilled engineers/designers, is required. You will have a strong understanding of biotechnology challenges, mechanical engineering and ideally the associated regulatory processes.
