Are you a Systems Engineer with knowledge of both software and hardware? This role has an extremely interesting and current application area, requiring skills in such areas as robotic systems, 3D positioning and/or drone technology? Our client is looking for an outstanding Systems Engineer to join its small world-class team of technologists, developing an innovative solution within this new start-up. They are in the early stages of developing a commercial product, focused on broad markets/applications.

They are looking for a highly talented control engineer with a creative spark, who is passionate, interested and interesting. To impress them you will need to have exemplary technical qualifications, preferably an engineering degree from a top university, and relevant industrial experience and achievements.

Your core skill will be embedded systems development on memory constrained, low powered processors. You will have commercial experience of both C and C++ on processors such as Arduino or ARM. Your experience will provide the key to interfacing with a variety of sensors and devices e.g. GPS, gyroscopes and GSM. This role also requires strong maths skills to be able implement the 3D positioning, navigation and flight control in this true real-time system.

The ability to also design the hardware side of the above interfaces is required. Ideally you can also offer some awareness of mechatronics / robotics and navigation fundamentals.

As a key member of the development team, you will become an authority on all technical aspects of the system - setting the requirements and taking technical responsibility for software architecture, software module design and hardware interfacing. This will enable you to make an important contribution to a small company, with the associated risks and rewards, including share options. Your salary will be very competitive - dependent on relevant academic and/or industrial experience.
