Connected Healthcare, Innovation, Cambridge, Medical Devices, R&D

This pioneering company is a market leader in R&D of successful technology across many areas of healthcare and medicine. Their products have ranged from low-cost biosensors and therapeutic devices, through to complex tele-surgery, diagnostics and health management systems. Their success stems from a broad interdisciplinary environment, excellent partnership with industry, and a willingness to think ‘outside of the box’ and rapidly prototype new ideas and concepts.

They are now seeking a Senior Technology Specialist, with a relevant technical background and proven commercial experience delivering innovative Connected Healthcare products, to lead new projects, and nurture new and existing industry relationships to maintain market competitiveness.

Candidate CVs will need to show all of:

  • a strong technical background, with a 1st or 2.1 in engineering (or a related subject) from a top university, with strong numerate skills throughout;
  • hands-on technical experience in a commercial environment – this can be in electronics, software, mechanical or related fields;
  • familiarity with the Connected Healthcare market, with evidence of good industry connections, market insight, and experience delivering successful and innovative products;
  • excellent ‘people’ and communication skills with both technical and lay audiences.

This company values technical knowledge and excellence above all, and CVs must show this as a focus – simply reeling off values of grants, funding and project costs won’t impress as much as conveying your interest and abilities in delivering exciting technology in Connected Healthcare.

As the Senior Technology Specialist, you will enjoy a great deal of autonomy and freedom to develop your own technical skills and interests, whilst maintaining a broad overview of multiple projects. You will be expected to liaise with clients from very early on, and have the confidence and experience to identify new ideas worthy of further research, whilst quickly closing off projects which won’t bring much benefit.

The successful candidate can expect a top salary and benefits package, together with work in a world-class environment that has plenty of dedicated rapid prototyping and R&D facilities on site to quickly take your ideas from concept to demo. Think you’ve got what it takes to drive innovation in this exciting environment? Apply now!
